Abstract (English) : The National Scholarly Editors’ Forum (NSEF) Meeting 2025, hosted by ASSAf’s Scholarly Publishing Unit on 25–26 August 2025 under the theme “Innovation and Integrity: Strengthening Scholarly Publishing Environment in South Africa,” brought together editors and stakeholders for strategic discussions on advancing scholarly publishing. Day 1 (virtual) focused on ASSAf business matters, including the adoption of the ASSAf Statement on the Recognition of Editors and Peer Reviewers and open reflections on future directions. Day 2 (in-person) featured thematic sessions on AI in editorial workflows, open access models, quality frameworks, legal and ethical compliance, and capacity building for editors, with contributions from leading national and international experts. Key outcomes included the adoption of the Recognition Statement, commitments to responsible AI use, strengthened open access strategies, and plans for editor development and succession planning. Participant feedback was highly positive, praising the relevance of topics and networking opportunities, while suggesting extended Q&A and practical sessions.
