About this Community
The Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf) Events community provides a permanent, openly accessible record of presentations, discussions and other contributions associated with events in which ASSAf participated, collaborated, hosted, co-hosted or was represented.
The community includes non-peer-reviewed presentation slides and related documents, primarily in PDF format, as well as audio and video recordings, primarily in MP4 format, from conferences, workshops, webinars, panel discussions, lectures, meetings and other scholarly, professional and public-engagement events.
Materials deposited in this community have not necessarily undergone formal academic peer review and should therefore not be regarded as peer-reviewed scholarly publications. They are preserved and made openly available because they document scientific and scholarly exchange and may contribute to academic and professional discourse, knowledge sharing, the advancement of science, public engagement with science, and evidence-informed policy and decision-making.
The community also serves as an institutional record of ASSAf’s participation in and contribution to national, regional and international scientific dialogue, preserving presentations and discussions that might otherwise not remain accessible after an event.
